Under Indian law and RBI guidelines, the following actions are strictly prohibited and can be punished with heavy fines on the bank. It is crucial for borrowers to recognize these illegal behaviors so that they can document them for legal action:
- Invasion of Privacy: Passing on loan details to neighbors, relatives, or office colleagues. This is a violation of the 'Duty of Confidentiality' that exists between a bank and its customer. Agents have no right to disclose your financial status to anyone else.
